Stage Readiness
Tools for a powerful performance
Getting ready for a big gig, your first open mic, school concert or an important audition?
I’d love to help! Let’s get you feeling grounded, confident and ready to take centre stage.
Performance isn’t just about sounding great. It’s not about being technically flawless.
It’s about presence, storytelling.
It’s about connecting: with the music, with your audience, and most importantly, with yourself. It’s about showing up as your full, authentic self, even when you feel scared or doubtful.
It’s natural to feel the pressure when preparing for a performance. And I get it – of course we’d want to do our best, to nail it! I’ve been there too. It’s also completely natural to feel nervous on stage – to feel exposed and even vulnerable.
More than just music lessons
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in all the years I’ve been performing, it’s this: when I give myself permission to be exactly where I am – whatever that looks like – anxious, tired, even terrified – when I’m not resisting, or trying to push away what I’m feeling, I can settle into the moment, drop back into my body, and the energy begins to flow.
It’s so important to acknowledge and make space for whatever is arising in us – to allow ourselves to be human, and to meet ourselves with compassion.
When we do this, we soften. The nerves begin to loosen their grip.
We become more open, more expressive – more ourselves.
That’s when a performance is powerful – because it’s honest, it’s true.
Together, we’ll work on both the technical and emotional aspects of performing so you can step on stage feeling open, expressive and empowered.
Here are some of the areas we can explore together depending on your goals and the type of performance you’re preparing for.:
Learning to work with nerves and performance anxiety
Learning to connect with your physical body as an anchor and a way to stay present and grounded even when we’re nervous
Connecting emotionally to your song
Developing stage presence and confidence; how to stand, hold a microphone, crowd engagement
Rehearsing your repertoire with intention and flow
